Slipgap is simple to start and hard to master. One input, one daily field, pure timing. Here’s how to survive longer and climb the leaderboard.

1. Find your rhythm

The dot is always either rising (input held) or falling (released). Great players don’t “hold then panic” — they settle into a steady tap-tap-tap cadence that keeps the dot hovering near the height they want. Before the gaps tighten, use the easy early section to lock in a calm, repeatable rhythm.

2. Watch the gap, not the dot

Beginners stare at the dot and react late. Keep your eyes on the next gap as it approaches and let your hands keep the dot tracking toward it. You’re aiming the dot at a target, not chasing it after the fact.

3. Aim for the center of each gap

Threading the exact edge feels heroic but leaves no margin for error. Target the middle of each gap so a small mistiming still clears it. Margins matter more and more as the gaps shrink.

4. Respect the escalation

The field always starts gentle and ramps up: gaps shrink first, then begin to move. Don’t burn focus early — the run is decided in the hard section, so play the opening cleanly and efficiently and save your concentration for when it counts.

5. Tap small, correct early

Most deaths come from over-correcting: a big input sends the dot rocketing past the gap, then the recovery overshoots the other way. Make small, early adjustments instead of large, late ones. Gentle and early beats hard and late every time.

6. Use the ghost as a pacer — or hide it

The rival ghost shows you exactly how far the player above you got and roughly how they paced it; treat it as a target line. If it distracts you, hide it with the toggle above the field and run your own race.

7. Nail the opening every time

Because the field is identical all day, the first stretch never changes. Learn that opening cold so you reach the hard part with full focus and zero wasted attempts. Consistency early is free distance.

8. Stay calm when the gaps move

Once gaps start drifting, resist the urge to react to every wobble. Track the gap’s motion and commit to a smooth path through where it’s going to be — jittery inputs are what end most late runs.

9. Treat it as one daily ritual
